A SpongeBob SquarePants plush given a makeover by Karl Lagerfeld attracted the highest bid at a recent Paris fundraiser for WWF, generating 1,000 Euros (Approx. $1,499 USD) at current exchange. Numerous local personalities had autographed iconic objects linked to the cartoon character for the auction, which altogether raised 7,000 Euros (Approx. $10,491 USD), including Inès de la Fressange, French singer Patrick Bruel and Greek TV presenter Nikos Aliagas.

Just released yesterday at Ice Cream is the label’s twist on this season’s popular varsity jacket. Louis Vuitton: Monogram Vernis Animaux Collection

To celebrate Valentine’s Day next year Louis Vuitton will be releasing the Louis Vuitton Monogram Vernis Animaux collection. Inspired by Gaston Vuitton’s wife who used to run a toy store at the Avenue Marceau store from 1954 to 1970, the designs here were sourced from the archives. A mix of Monogram Vernis, Monogram Canvas, embossed patent leather and water snake skin, there are a total of 6 different designs (SGD775 each), including the Pochette Rooster and Pochette Bird shown above. The other 4 are here, including Coin Purse Bird, Coin Purse Squirrel, Coin Purse Bunny and Coin Purse Rooster.

Private House - Ljubno ob Savinji

Architects Anton Žižek and Marjan Poboljšaj, both of whom graduated in 1997, are being noticed consistently at European events and competitions for their progressive design work — from interior design and furniture concepts to architecture. They are the founders of Superform, based in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.


Recently, Superform created an interesting retreat for a private client by combining two existing buildings in the town of Ljubno ob Savinji, 70 kilometers from the capital.

The first house that resembles the traditional buildings of the valley is monolithic and introverted and contains the bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen. Its main materials are wood and stone.

Mishka NYC Holiday Lookbook 2009

A little bit drifter and a little bit downtown bad boy, Mishka’s holiday lookbook has us looking forward to shopping again, despite Black Friday meltdowns and now not-quite-buttoning pants. Alila Villas Soori Resort in Bali, Indonesia

Having already covered the Alila Cha-Am Resort in Thailand last month, we were thrilled to see another architectural gem for the Alila Hotel group. The Alila Villas Soori Resort in Bali, Indonesia is another in the line of high end luxury retreats in the Indian Ocean. Alila Villas Soori was designed by SCDA Architects, a complex that includes 48 villas that range in size from 1680 square feet to 49,500 square feet for the 10-bedroom master villa. The hotel opens next month, located on the southwest coast of Bali with prices starting at $600/night.

KiD CuDi Surprises Toronto with Drake

Michael Lau x MINDstyle Kuala Lumpur Exhibition

Following up a successful exhibition in Los Angeles, Michael Lau brings his renowned vinyl creations to Kuala Lumpur for a special exhibition set up in conjunction with toymakers MINDstyle. The show will not only highlight Lau’s work but also feature a series of paintings by various other high profile artists including pop master Ron English. An official opening is slated December 11th with a Michael Lau autograph session set in place as well as limited edition releases being available throughout the day. For those in town be sure to stop by as the show will only remain in tact through December 19th, 2009.
